I keep coming back to the same idea every time I clean out my closet. All I want are clothes that are easy to put on, feel good, and don't require a lot of thought. Minimal dressing sounds easy, but finding the right basics takes time. You want the sweater that complements every pair of jeans you own, the soft sweatshirt that fits properly, and the tank that layers without bunching. I found a perfectwhitetee as a result of that search.
The brand started with two friends who lived in tees and denim and wanted year round basics that stayed consistent. They make most of their clothing in the US and focus on fabrics that feel soft from the start.
Nothing seems overly complex. Everything has that tidy, worn-in appearance that minimalists value. After experimenting with a few pieces, I came to the conclusion that these were the kind of staples that easily fit into a stylish wardrobe.
The nine essentials I tried are listed below; each one fits into my easy, neutral style in a different way.

The first thing that convinced me the hype might be genuine was this sweatshirt. The shrunken fit feels intentional, not tight, and the bracelet length sleeves are actually useful because they show a watch or bracelets without sliding up. It has some texture from the inside-out fleece, which adds interest without detracting from its straightforward appearance. I wear this with denim or leggings and never have to adjust anything.

These joggers feel like the kind you reach for the second you get home. The fabric is soft, the ankle length keeps the shape clean, and the hidden drawstring keeps the waistband smooth. I like that they work outside the house too. When paired with Tyler or Ziggy, they appear put together but at ease.

Tyler feels like the lighter, relaxed cousin of Ziggy. It has an easy drape because of the drop shoulder, and the fit hits that sweet spot where it is roomy but still neat. I frequently wear it with leggings, particularly on days when I want something basic but still looks put together.

Normally I stay away from V necks in loungewear, but this one is different. The entire sweatshirt has a soft, oversized appearance that is peaceful and comfortable, and the V is not overly deep. It works with denim, trousers, or sweatpants, and it looks like a piece you planned even if you did not.

On chilly days, these wide-leg thermal pants are ideal. The waistband fits properly, the leg shape falls nicely, and the fabric is soft. I enjoyed the combination of textures when I wore these with a blazer once. They can also be worn with a basic long sleeve for an easy at home outfit.

This tank became a fast favorite. The rib fabric makes it perfect for layering, and it fits close to the body without being too tight. I can wear it under cardigans, blazers, or zip hoodies, and it still looks good on its own with denim. It is the kind of tank you end up wanting in more than one color.

Despite being completely out of my comfort zone, I ended up enjoying them far more than I had anticipated. They feel soft and relaxed without looking messy. The straight leg makes them look a little dressed up even though they are still sweatpants. They are now regularly rotated after I reached for them to test them on a chilly night.

This sweater feels like a winter upgrade on a classic. The cotton cashmere blend is soft but not too delicate, and the cable knit pattern gives it a little structure. It works well alone or layered under a coat on colder days. This sweater is perfect if you enjoy simple-looking yet unique sweaters.

This cardigan seems like the item you can't stop reaching for. It is easy to wear both open and closed thanks to the fit and button front. It looks great over dresses or tanks, but I prefer it with jeans. It is simple in the best way.
It feels good to find basics that blend in instead of complicating things, and that’s what these did for me.
