All You Need To Know About Benefits Of Jetblue Mastercard

This past summer, we finally made it to New York City and took full advantage of the city's many attractions. I'll be writing a comprehensive trip report, but first I want to share how we saved a tonne of money by flying on JetBlue by booking award flights.

If you frequently use JetBlue's Services or plan a trip to a destination served by JetBlue, applying for one of the JetBlue co-branded credit cards offered by Barclays Bank is smart.

Prior to the release of their new Mastercard-branded credit cards earlier this year, JetBlue's credit cards were issued by American Express.

JetBlue Card

There is no yearly fee for the JetBlue Card, and the benefits are worth the price. Once a new cardholder opens an account and spends $1,000 on purchases in the first 90 days, they will only get 10,000 points.

You'll also get three TrueBlue points for every dollar you spend on JetBlue, two points for every dollar you spend at food and grocery stores, and one point for every dollar you spend anywhere else.

You can also avoid paying any foreign transaction fees and get a 50% discount on in-flight meals and drinks.

However, the card lacks another common (and valuable) perk of airline credit cards: a free checked bag. In addition, the TrueBlue program does not offer a points bonus for joining or upgrading on an anniversary.

JetBlue Plus Card

The $99 annual fee for the JetBlue Plus Card is more than justified if you make multiple purchases with the airline each year. After opening an account and paying the yearly fee, you can earn 40,000 bonus points by making purchases totaling $1,000 within the first 90 days of having the account.

There are six TrueBlue points available for every dollar spent on JetBlue, two points available for every dollar spent at supermarkets and restaurants, and one point available for every dollar spent anywhere else. The card's perks are what make it worthwhile, though.

To begin, on qualifying flights, you and up to three additional passengers on your reservation are each entitled to one free checked bag. If you fly at least twice a year-round trip on your own and always check a bag, the annual fee is more than justified by the savings you'll make on your first checked bag, which can cost up to $35 one way.

Benefits Of The Card:

In addition to the attractive sign-up bonus and other benefits already mentioned, the JetBlue Plus credit card comes with a number of other attractive features, such as a point bonus every year, free checked bags (a savings of at least $25), and discounts on in-flight purchases.

With the points you earn from this card, you can join JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty program, which has many enticing perks for cardholders. When taking a JetBlue flight, it is in your best interest to sign up for a TrueBlue account, which is easy to do for no cost.

How Many Points Do You Need For A Free Flight On Jetblue?

If you're curious about how many JetBlue points are required for a free flight, the range for an economy flight is approximately 10,000 to 24,000 points, while the range for a first-class flight is approximately 68,000 to just under 120,000 points.

Do Jetblue Card Holders Get Free Carry-On?

To begin, if you are able to pack your belongings into a smaller suitcase, you will be able to bring your bag with you as a carry-on and store it in the overhead bin of the airline as long as you do not book a Blue Basic fare.

However, if you are required to check a bag, as long as you have a JetBlue credit card, the airline will cover the cost of your first checked bag.

Do Jetblue Credit Card Points Expire?

TrueBlue Points do not expire. If a Member closes his or her TrueBlue account, the associated Points will be forfeited.
